Virgin Games welcome offer: our reading
Whether a new member gets this offer at all is settled before the first deposit goes in. The rules require a new member to opt in "by selecting the Free Spins offer before making your first deposit", and they close the door behind that moment: a member who has not opted in by then "will not be eligible to opt in to this promotion retrospectively", and the choice "is locked in at the point that a successful first deposit is made, and cannot be exchanged or altered after this time". Taking it also rules out any other welcome offer on the site. The banner's "must opt in" is accurate, but it does not say that the opt-in has a single moment and no second chance.
What sits on the other side of that choice is plainly stated. A deposit of £10 or more, then £10 staked in cash on slot games, releases 100 free spins on Game of Thrones at 1p a line over 10 lines, which the banner gives as 10p per spin. The spins "have no wagering requirements", and rule 8 lets the deposit and any winnings be withdrawn "at any time during this promotion", subject to the operator's right to withhold payments temporarily under its website terms. The qualifying stake and the total staked by the spins come to the same sum.
The places where the spins can be lost are procedural. The £10 has to be wagered on slot games, and the rules expressly exclude any type of bingo wagering. The spins are credited only once the game has been opened, and they "must all be played through before your account balance will be updated with any applicable winnings", so a session abandoned part-way shows nothing until the remaining spins are used. If the spins do not appear, the rules ask the member to allow up to 72 hours. Virgin Games also keeps the right to withdraw the promotion at any time and without notice, though spins already accrued stay valid under the terms that applied when they were earned.
The offer runs on 2 clocks of 30 days each, and the page starts the first of them in 2 different places. The numbered rules say "You have 30 days from when you make your first deposit to complete the remaining Qualifying Requirements and 30 days after that to play any Free Spins before they expire". The description higher up the same page says there are "30 days from the date of registration to complete the qualifying deposit and wager". For a member who registers and deposits on the same day the 2 versions agree. For anyone who registers first and deposits later they do not, and the page does not say which prevails. Registration is the earlier of the 2 starting points, so a deadline counted from it is the only one that holds under either wording.
What the rules themselves never address is a ceiling. The statement that winnings are uncapped appears in the page's summary table and in its opening copy, as "no caps on what you win"; the numbered rules do not mention a cap in either direction. On an offer without wagering, a cap is the term that would limit what the spins pay, so it matters which part of the page is making the promise. The rules also name no excluded payment method, no maximum stake for the qualifying £10 and no excluded slot. They carry their own date, 1st July 2026, and that is the version quoted here.
Rule 4 is the one that costs the most and reads the least like a restriction: opting in here makes a member ineligible "for any other welcome offer on the website or any other promotion restricted to new members as made available from time to time". That is not a bar on claiming this offer a second time — rule 5 handles that, with account closure and voided spins for anyone found holding more than 1 account. Rule 4 removes the whole class of new-member promotions, and it does so at the moment of a choice made before the first deposit, which rule 3 then locks: there is no retrospective opt-in and the selection "cannot be exchanged or altered after this time". The page offers no promo code, answering its own question with "No. Opt in only during registration process", so the only control a player has is the order in which they click.
What that choice is worth depends on terms this operator shares with another brand in the same catalogue, because the licence is the same. The footer names Gamesys Operations Limited, Suite 2, Floor 4, Waterport Place, Gibraltar, a company its own pages place inside Bally's Interactive; our mirror of the Gambling Commission register holds it as current under account 38905, with no enforcement case against it in the mirror we keep of the Commission's published actions. The brand named in the quote below runs its welcome offer from that same account, with rules numbered the same way and the same clause locking the choice. Read together with rule 4, the practical question is not which of the 2 offers is better but whether a new member understands that picking one closes the new-member promotions behind it.
The deadline is published from 2 different starting points on 1 page, and the rules are the document the banner points at. Rule 2 and the summary table count the first 30 days from the first deposit; the body copy and the FAQ on the same page count them from the date of registration. For anyone who registers and deposits in the same session the distinction is invisible; for anyone who signs up and funds the account later it is the difference between having the time the page promises and having less of it. The banner's own footnote sends the reader to the rules, which is the version counting from the deposit.
The operator reserves 2 rights worth reading before opting in, and 1 of them is unusually fair. The promotion can be withdrawn or cancelled "at any time and without notice", but spins already opted in or accrued "will still be valid in accordance with the terms and conditions that applied at the time" — a clause that protects what has already been earned rather than voiding it, which is not how most of the offers in this catalogue handle cancellation. The other right is the usual one: on reasonable evidence of a serious breach of the rules or the site terms, the spins and their winnings can be voided and the account closed.
The wording of the duplicate-account rule is wider than holding 2 accounts. A member is "associated" with another account by using someone else's account or details, or by "having multiple accounts under the same address, email, or IP address". Association alone gets an account classed as a duplicate, and the consequence is the closure of all of the member's accounts where the operator believes the member acted deliberately or fraudulently, with winnings, rewards, bonuses and free bets from the duplicate voided. For an offer that is available once, a shared household connection is the practical way to meet this rule without meaning to.
The payment method has to "correspond with the name on your account". The operator says it is entitled to assume the member does not use corporate or business cards or accounts and is using their own funds, and it accepts "no liability where that is not the case". Where it has reasonable grounds to believe third-party funds were used, it voids winnings from the deposit, either refunds or withholds the deposit, and closes the account. That sits behind a promise of withdrawals "at any time" in the offer rules.
When the offer rules and the general terms disagree, the offer rules win: the terms state that where specific promotion terms conflict with them, "the specific terms will take precedence". That favours the member, but only so far as the offer rules go, and they point back to the general terms for the right to withhold payments. The same section adds that closing the account during a promotion voids participation and the prize, and that the operator may withdraw or amend a promotion at any time.
How a dropped connection is treated depends on whether play had begun. A single-player game not yet commenced does not take place; one that had commenced "will be recorded on the Game servers", the wager stands and the outcome is reflected in the account. For spins that must all be played through before the balance updates, that is the rule that applies if the connection fails part-way.
Conduct clauses reach promotions directly. Exploiting "loopholes in Games or promotions" is listed among forbidden uses, and on reasonable evidence of a serious breach the operator may hold or void rewards accruing in that period, suspend participation in a promotion already opted into and restrict the opening of further accounts. Separately, where it has concerns about the level of a member's gambling it may exclude the member from promotions, including, in certain circumstances, preventing one already opted into from being completed, and it may take any of those actions on any group website. A cool-off of 24 hours up to 6 weeks, or self-exclusion for a minimum of 6 months, binds the whole group: a member who self-excludes may not use an account with any company in it.

We read these terms on Virgin Games's own website, as offered to players in Great Britain, from a connection outside Great Britain. Operators can serve a different offer by location, so bonus value, wagering and eligible games may differ — the terms shown at the cashier of your own account always take precedence.
