OUR ANALYSIS

Fruity King welcome offer: our reading

A pair of sentences in this offer's terms works against the player at once, and together they decide what the 35x actually costs. The first is "Wager from real balance first" — the player's own money is spent before any bonus money. The second is "Wager calculated on bonus bets only" — only stakes made from the bonus count towards the requirement. Read together, a player has to exhaust their own deposit before a single pound of progress is recorded against the 35x, and the requirement then has to be cleared from the bonus balance alone. Most operators in this catalogue apply one rule or the other; this offer applies both.

There are also 2 requirements rather than 1, running on separate clocks. The terms state it plainly: "35x wager the bonus money within 30 days and 35x wager any winnings from the free spins within 7 days." So the match carries a month and the spins' winnings carry a week, and the shorter deadline attaches to the part a player reaches last.

What can come out at the end is capped on both sides. "Max conversion: 3 times the bonus amount or from free spins: £/€/$ 20." On the minimum deposit of £10 the bonus is £10, so the match side is bounded at 3 times that, and whatever the 50 spins produce is bounded at £20 regardless of what they hit. For an offer headlined as 100% up to £100 plus 50 spins, those are the figures that describe it.

The currency in that cap is worth a second look. It is written "£/€/$ 20" — the same number for 3 currencies — and the headline cap appears elsewhere on the operator's pages as "€/$200" where the British version says £200. A single digit string serving pounds, euros and dollars is a sign that the page is generated from one template per market rather than priced per market, and it means the sterling player is reading a number that was not set for sterling.

Our snapshot of this site also came back part-translated: the footer in the capture reads in Finnish, naming ProgressPlay Limited as the operator, because our connection exits in Finland. The UK pages themselves are in English and carry the sterling figures quoted here, but it is a reminder that what this operator serves depends on where the request comes from, and that terms read from the wrong exit are not the terms a British account gets.

One restriction reaches beyond the brand entirely. The significant terms limit a player to "1 sport & 5 casino brand/s within the network" — the network being the platform this site runs on, which operates many brands under the same licence. A player's eligibility for welcome offers is therefore counted across those brands rather than per site, and nothing on the page lists which brands are in the network or how a player is supposed to know they have reached the limit.

Taking money out at the wrong time ends everything attached to it: "Withdrawal requests void all active/pending bonuses." That is wider than the usual clause, because it voids pending bonuses as well as active ones — so a withdrawal made while a second promotion is queued removes that too. Deposits by Skrill or Neteller are excluded from the offer, which places this among the 8 offers in this catalogue that name the methods they will not accept.

The game is named and we hold its published return. Big Bass Bonanza — the original title in that series, not one of its sequels — is in our games catalogue at 96.71%, taken from Pragmatic Play's own game page. That figure applies to this game only; the series has several titles with their own mathematics, and a number read from one cannot be carried to another.

The operator is named in full and its licence is current. The site is operated by ProgressPlay Limited of Soho Office, 3A, Punchbowl Centre, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians, Malta, and our mirror of the Gambling Commission register holds the company as current under account 39335, with no enforcement case against it in the mirror we keep of the Commission's published actions.

What the terms leave unpublished is the stake side. There is no maximum bet stated for play with bonus funds — the term that most often costs a player a cleared bonus at other operators — and the games that count are described only as "selected games only" with "contribution varies per game", without a table. The weighting that is published elsewhere on the site gives blackjack, baccarat, roulette, poker table games and jackpot games 10% and video poker 5%, so a player clearing 35x on those would need an order of magnitude more turnover, which is the difference between a month being enough and not.

The general terms contain a cost that the offer page never mentions: "Withdrawals are subject to a processing fee in the amount of 1% up to £3 per withdrawal." A balance below the minimum withdrawal can still be taken in full by contacting support. Any fee charged by the payment provider falls on the player, a withdrawal cannot be cancelled "for any reason", and requests show as "Pending" until they are paid. Funds go back to the method used to deposit; where that method cannot receive withdrawals the player may be asked for proof that the destination is theirs, which means both sides of a debit card with the middle digits covered, a screenshot of the e-wallet profile, or a phone bill for a pay-by-phone deposit.

The general bonus policy carries figures that differ from the offer's own. It converts the winnings from free spins to real money only after wagering them "50 (fifty) times" within 7 days, where the offer's small print says 35x. It caps free-spin conversion at £20, and a free money bonus converts only after wagering 50 times within 30 days and is capped at 3 times the bonus. The terms say promotion-specific conditions are to be read in conjunction with the general ones, and they do not say which governs when the numbers disagree, so a player who relies on 35x is relying on the narrower of 2 documents.

Only 1 bonus can be active at a time. The others, except free spins and free bets, become "Pending Bonuses" whose wagering starts only when the requirement on the active bonus is met or the active bonus expires or is cancelled; if the bonus funds fall below £0.50 the next pending bonus is activated in parallel. Time spent pending counts against a bonus's own 7-day period. A player may receive "up to 5" registration or welcome bonuses, 5 casino welcome bonuses and 1 sport welcome bonus on the company's network of sites, and up to 5 free-bet bonuses a month.

The operator's powers over a game in progress are broad. Where there is a technical failure in its systems "for any reason whatsoever" it may cancel participation in the affected game, and its liability is limited to the participation fee or bet sum, which is credited back. It may also limit, refuse or cancel any bet or game where it believes fraud or bad faith has been directed at it or a third party, in which case the player receives the sum paid but no winnings, and "if any such winnings were paid to You, the Company shall reduce Your balance by the amount of such winnings".

The complaints clause gives a player 6 months from the incident to raise a complaint, promises acknowledgement within 24 hours and a final decision within 8 weeks, and then points to eCOGRA as a free ADR service. The governing-law clause carries a note that was never removed. After stating that Maltese law and courts alone apply, the same paragraph adds a sentence addressed to the operator's own staff, saying that it is required under the LCCP not to prevent customers from taking legal proceedings in the UK and "so we must change this" to the courts of England and Wales. The published text states a rule and, in the same breath, says it has to be changed.

The list of "Irregular Playing Patterns" carries thresholds that a player can trip without meaning to: placing single or multiple bets of 50% or more of a bonus on any single game round, hand or bet; a drop in bet size of 65% or more after a substantial gain; placing "more than 25% of Your initial deposit as one Bet or wager"; and any use of "Martingale betting strategies". The consequence stated for such patterns, and for the longer list of prohibited actions, is that the company closes the account and withholds, seizes and confiscates the funds in it other than un-staked deposits, which are returned. One figure is a legal limit rather than a bonus condition: the maximum stake on slots is £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24.

Responsible-gambling provisions include limits that fall at once and rise only after 24 hours, and self-exclusion for a minimum of 6 months to 12 months, extendable. On a request to self-exclude the account is closed and the funds returned, and marketing stops, except for blanket marketing aimed at a geographic area. Separately the company may set off any positive balance against sums owed to it, and notices sent by email are deemed received within 24 hours.

Key bonus terms, and what each one means

Wagering requirement
35x

Turnover of 35× the bonus alone must be completed before bonus funds or their winnings can be withdrawn. On the £10 that qualifies, that is £350 of turnover for £10 of bonus.

Expiry
30 days (bonus); 7 days (free spins and their winnings)

Spread over the 30 days allowed, the £350 works out at £11.67 a day.

£10

The entry price for the offer: put in less and nothing is triggered.

Cash-out cap
3x the bonus; £20 from free spins

Whatever the offer produces, this is the ceiling on what can be withdrawn from it.

Game weighting and exclusions
Selected games only. Blackjack, baccarat, roulette, poker table games and jackpot games count 10%, video poker 5%; real balance is wagered first. The banner states the cap as "up to €/$100" with no sterling figure, and the general bonus policy quotes 50x for bonus money and free spins — which rule prevails is not said.

A game counting 5% turns the £350 into £7,000.

What clearing this offer is expected to cost

BONUS CREDITED
£10.00
TURNOVER REQUIRED
£350.00
EXPECTED COST

Negative. Clearing this bonus costs about £14.00 in house edge to keep £10.00 — on average you end up about £4.00 down by taking it. Playing the deposit on its own costs less.
